The alert came in response to numerous burglary incidents that happened at the St. Regis Residences condominium complex in Rye at 120 Old Post Rd., the City of Rye Police Department announced on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

In order to avoid being victimized by burglars, which are targeting unoccupied residences in the area, police said residents should secure their homes and property.

Residents are also advised to activate their alarms before leaving their homes, especially those on the second and third floors of the complex.

Because the thieves have been targeting jewelry, designer bags, and cash, residents should make sure these items are kept in a safe or safety deposit box, authorities added.

Anyone who sees any suspicious activity is asked to call the City of Rye Police at (914) 967-1234.
